The University Bistro: a budding place

The University Bistro is targeted to attract the students of Delhi University
The University Bistro is targeted to attract the students of Delhi University and is priced affordably

Located at the very heart of the North campus, Delhi University, The University Bistro is a new hangout junction in the ever-busy Hudson Lane. Recently THN was invited for a review and as we entered the place, we were impressed by the colourful décor and vibrancy of it.

We were greeted by Vivek Aggarwal, co-owner of the café, who took on a small journey behind the idea of opening TUB. As one takes a stroll on the Hudson Lane, one finds a plethora of cafes around and to open their first-ever F&B joint was a challenge as well as a mission of ASP Hospitality. “We always wanted to start a café and while our recce we chose Hudson Lane as our aim is to serve something new and creative. Our menu consists of cuisines from across the world unlike our contemporaries around,” says Vivek.

It came as a delight to us also as the place was full and that too within almost a month of its launch. The happy people around were the testimony of its first success. We take you on a photo journey of our culinary trip to TUB.

Minestrone Soup-The University BistroThis one was a slightly modified version of Minestrone Soup (sans rice or noodles). It tasted well but a little less vinegar would have been better. The tea-light under the bowl helps to keep the soup warm throughout.

IMG_6726 copyThe café also specialises in mocktails and we tried the Green apple and cucumber cola. Though not fizzy, this was our best pick for the day.

IMG_6728 copyThe owners’ love for continental is evident from the menu itself and one should not leave the café without trying their sizzlers. We ordered for Mushroom, brocolli and pepper sizzler. Served with herb rice and french fries, it filled our hearts.
